Professional Learning to Spark Curiosity: The Learning Lounge

During my time at the Concept-Based Inquiry Conference in Singapore in 2024, I had the exciting opportunity to sit down with fellow international educators Rachel French, Ijanaya Smith, and Davidson Lloyd to discuss a topic that’s been rapidly reshaping education—Artificial Intelligence and Academic Integrity.

Our conversation, featured on The Learning Lounge, focused on two distinct but increasingly intertwined concepts: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Academic Integrity. As AI tools like ChatGPT and others become more common both inside and outside the classroom, educators, schools, and students are encountering new opportunities and challenges.

Together, we explored how AI can be a powerful tool for enhancing learning experiences while also considering the ethical implications and potential pitfalls of its use. The discussion reflected our diverse experiences from different parts of the world, all united by the desire to understand how AI can be effectively integrated into educational environments while maintaining high standards of integrity.

The conversation sparked many ideas about how to best prepare students to use these tools responsibly and creatively. It was also a powerful reminder of the importance of collaboration and open dialogue among educators globally as we continue to adapt to this rapidly changing landscape. I look forward to sharing more insights from this engaging exchange and how it has informed my own teaching practices and research.
