Affordance Analysis of ChatGPT as an Educational Tool at SITE Conference 2025
I recently had the privilege of presenting on an affordance analysis of ChatGPT as an educational tool at the SITE Conference 2025, alongside Dr. Nada Dabbagh and Enas Fadaly. Our presentation focused on examining the unique affordances of ChatGPT within educational environments, exploring how it can support learning, creativity, and inquiry-based approaches.
We discussed ChatGPT’s potential to enhance student engagement, provide personalized feedback, and serve as a tool for scaffolding complex tasks. Additionally, we addressed concerns surrounding its ethical use, including challenges related to academic integrity, bias, and accessibility.
The session highlighted how educators can harness AI tools like ChatGPT to create more inclusive and responsive learning environments. It was a pleasure to share our findings and engage in rich discussions with other researchers and educators interested in the transformative possibilities of AI in education. I look forward to building on this research and continuing to explore how ChatGPT can be integrated effectively and ethically in various learning contexts.
